Meet the Instructors
Stefany Cambra - Theatre
Currently living in Texas, Cambra is a high school educator at Plano Senior High School where she teaches Professional Communications and Oral Interpretation - she also fulfills the role of Speech and Debate coach for the Plano Central Cluster. Cambra travels the country with high school students, training them to hone their passions into performances that are shared with thousands of people each year. When she's not teaching, Cambra works as a theatrician in the Dallas - Fort Worth area. Most notably, she is the artistic director of Proper Hijinx Productions, a theatre company she founded in 2015 to produce the works of local playwrights and support the voices of independent artists. No matter the work she does, Cambra's primary mission is always to empower others to find their voices.
Matthew Matheney - Physics
Matthew Matheney loves teaching! How much, you ask? Would it be enough to say that his ultimate goal in life is to build his own school? Of course, there are other things he would like to do as well: become a Taekwondo grandmaster, fly fish the Yellowstone River, publish a board game, write a book… Alright…he’s a fan of just about everything. Right now, Matthew is smack dab in the middle of his journey to all of those goals. He graduated from Truman State University with an undergraduate degree in mathematics and physics and a master’s degree in education. He’s a 4th degree black belt, made four board games (but hasn’t published any of them yet), got a fly-fishing rod for his birthday last year, and just yesterday finished one more poem for his future poetry book. It’s all a work in progress, but he’s loving every minute of it.
Jennifer Brandom - College Readiness
Jennifer is a current graduate student at Missouri State studying Student Affairs in Higher Education. She currently works as a graduate assistant in the TRIO Upward Bound office where she assists high school students in preparing for life after high school. She is excited for the opportunity to teach the college preparedness class this summer because she believes it is so important for students to have access to important information and resources so they can make the best choices for their future!
Ryan Owrey - Robotics and Programming
Ryan is the Assistant Director for the TRIO Upward Bound program. He loves anything and everything science related, especially as it relates to future technologies! He has a background in software and hardware troubleshooting, has built multiple PCs, and thoroughly enjoys helping people learn about IT.
