Tutors are available to all currently active TRIO students.  We are currently able to provide tutors for all General Education courses and many upper-division courses.  The availability of a tutor for your course will depend on our current staffing at the time of your application, but we will make every effort to provide TRIO students with a tutor if needed.  

Requests for tutoring should be submitted to the TRIO office as soon as you register for the course in which you need tutoring to allow TRIO enough time to fill your request.  Requests for tutors are accepted until mid-terms each semester, but students are encouraged to apply as early in the semester if possible.  Once you submit an application to receive tutoring, a tutor will be assigned to you and should contact you within 48 hours.  If TRIO does not currently have a tutor that can fill your request, you will be notified that a search has been started to hire a tutor to fill your request.  This process can take anywhere from 1 week to a month or more. 

Tutoring is conducted on a set schedule, 3 hours a week in a room on campus reserved by TRIO.  There is never tutoring conducted in either the student's or tutor's home.  Failure to attend 3 or more tutoring sessions may result in your tutoring being suspended.
